The RNT is delighted to welcome Nevena Pecotic in its English team!

Nev was born in Belgrade and is of a Serbian and Croatian/Dalmatian heritage. She grew up in London, where she still lives and works.

Nev holds an MA in Psychoanalytic Observational Studies from the Tavistock and Portman and is a trained Child and Family Psychodynamic Psychotherapist (MA/MBACP). Since qualifying, Nev has worked with adults, children and families in the private and public sector and as a consultant/supervisor in schools and children’s homes across the UK. She currently teaches on the MSc child psychodynamic psychotherapy training course at Birkbeck, University of London. Prior to this, Nev spent many years working in educational inclusion units and various provisions with looked-after children.

Nev has a broad interest in improving the wellbeing of marginalised communities and is a keen advocate of the rights of children, the elderly and people with disabilities living in Serbia.

Nev’s other interests include psychogeography and walking (specifically as a means of reclamation and connectivity of urban spaces), free-associative travel writing, esotericism and developing the application of a combination of psychotherapy and evolutionary psycho-astrology in informing work with hard to reach communities and as part of end of life care. She is currently developing a project that aims to harness these interests in ways that build capacity and resilience in individuals to help them form a sense of authentic self and purpose within their wider communities.
