Transforming young minds: RNT’s £2,500 gift brings cutting-edge technology to the Jovan Arandjelovic primary school in Crvena Reka

The RNT has donated £2,500 to the Jovan Arandjelovic primary school in Crvena Reka, Serbia, funding a state-of-the-art smartboard that will revolutionize learning for generations of students.

The elementary school Jovan Arandjelovic is situated in the village of Crvena Reka, which belongs to the Municipality of Bela Palanka in the Southeast of Serbia. The school operated as a four-grade school until 1955, and since then it has grown into an eight-grade school.  The school also includes outposted classes in the surrounding villages, of which classes are now held in the settlement of Dolac and the villages of Vrandol and Tamnjanica.

The school employs 28 teachers, one pedagogue, an assistant, and 8 other employees. Students from 7 to 14 years old are taught the following subjects: Serbian language, mathematics, biology, geography, history, physics, chemistry, English, French, computer science, technical education, art culture, music culture, physical and health education, religious education and civic education.

This transformative smartboard will dramatically enhance the educational experience, allowing for interactive lessons, multimedia presentations, and collaborative learning opportunities. It represents not just new technology, but a bridge connecting these students to the wider world of digital learning.

The RNT's commitment to Jovan Arandjelovic school has been unwavering. In 2023, despite economic headwinds, the Trust provided £2,570 to completely renovate the school's toilet facilities with new plumbing and fixtures. The previous year saw a £2,500 donation transform the school library, significantly enriching students' access to knowledge and literature.

These remarkable achievements stem from the extraordinary dedication of our members and the heartfelt generosity of our donors and business partners who have supported our mission from day one. To everyone who has contributed to making these dreams reality: your kindness is opening doors of opportunity for children who will shape Serbia's future. Together, we are not just improving facilities—we are inspiring young minds and building a brighter tomorrow for all.
